Born on August 15, 1931, she has been a Chatham resident for 42 years. She was a lifelong resident of Mary Ella Dempsey age 54, of Ft Myers, FL passed away on June 2, 2020. Her prescient scientific articles on cholesterol biosynthesis, lipid transport and lipid metabolism led the way in our understanding of cholesterols role in heart disease just as the country was beginning to understand the severity of its cardiovascular disease epidemic.
